Media Browser 2.5.2 (Apollo) Released
Version 2.5.2 (Apollo) is now available for download. This version started out as a quick maintenance release but evolved into a new version that should provide significant performance and feature improvements in several areas.
Please see the changelog for a complete description of the changes and new features.
Also, please note that this version will only install on Windows 7 systems. Hydra was the end of our official Vista support.
Thanks as always to all my beta testers and, especially this time to Chip for the development help on the default theme.

Harmony theme appears to be broken, prevents Mediabrowser from launching.

Great work! Love it.

Just a small nitpick. If you do try to install this on Vista the error message says “Media Browser can only be installed on Microsoft Windows Vista (Home Premium or Ultimate Edition) or Windows 7…”. Just thought you should know the error message needs updating.
As soon as AT&T gets out here to fix my DSL line I’ll be throwing this on the HTPC. Can’t wait!

@deimos: nice catch, please post a bug report about it so it can be fixed in the next version.

Smooth and painless upgrade. After changing mymovies.xml to movie.xml, next step is downloading the MSI file and installing. No errors on the configurator. Next updated all the Throg themes plus CoverArt then ran MB Services on the two content servers and it was a done deal.
Excellent and painless experience in upgrading. Here are a few attaboys from me.
Urban Dictionary definition of attaboy:
1. Word given when you do a damn good job! Man, you busted your ass … attaboy

Just wanted to say I finally got this installed on the HTPC and everything is great! Between this and the new NEO, everything is running smoother than ever. Great update!

I agree with all above that this release introduced some marked speed improvements. One problem I seem to be having is that when I go up to the top bar and select quit to return to the normal EHShell, it ends up crashing media center prompting an error dialog saying mediacenter needs to be restarted. Has anyone else seen this?

Please post a question in the tracker. Much easier to track down what’s going on there.

Do I have to uninstall the previous version for this upgrade?
January 24, 2012
MSI installers automatically un-install previous versions so, no.

Installed on my main machine and everything is working great so far. Installed on a new machine as well and was told it needed to migrate my library. Everything seems to be working ok but I just thought it was odd to need a migration on a fresh machine.
