I have a problem with mpc-hc. If I stop playback right after I started playback wmc is not maximized.

So this only occurs if you stop immediately? As in how quickly?

  • I’m not sure it has something to do with mb. I look closely at the problem, but may have a feeling it has something to do with me switching from 1920x1080 @ 60 to 1920x1080 @ 24 and vice versa – JLPFLD about 1 year ago

I thought I was the only one having this issue. I have 2.6 installed and use mpc-hc as my external player. After I finish watching the movie and exit mpc, I go back to the desktop. Basically, WMC/MB is losing focus and remains minimized. If I use the green button from my remote to bring up MC on screen, I am successful 50% of the time. The other 50%,I have to end up using my keyboard.

I never had any of these issues with 2.5.3

I am still experiencing the problem, about 1 out of 10 times. I can not confirm that it has something to do with changing the resolution.

This might help you out. The problem seems to be mpc-hc with the newer versions of MadVR.

  • I use beta mpc-hc builds, and the latest madvr and I never see this issue. But I don’t use resolution switching. – luke 12 months ago
  • I don’t use resolution switching either, but I still have this issue. I think I might switch back to an older version of MadVR or use an additional command to close the media file before closing mpc-hc. – bigpoppapump 12 months ago

I am one of those who point out the error in there. For some this may have something to do with it but not for me. http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mpc-hc/ticket/2253

You can bypass it by using CTRL+C and then ALT+X.

Madshi and others have confirmed that there is a problem.

Resolved this issue at least for the moment by assigning the ‘MEDIASTOP’ button to close the file rather than stopping playback and then ‘BROWSERBACK’ to exit out of mpc-hc. Exiting mpc now takes me back to WMC maximized without any issues.

I have in my case found out that it always happens when you play a movie and have the ability to resume and then start the movie from the beginning and end immediately after playing.
