Can you make it so we can hide the VF and just access this UI from the * menu.

This is awesome – thank you! I made a similar request here. Here are the details of my request:

• Only shows TV series that have a status of ‘continuing’ on thetvdb.com
• Only displays the current season (ignore all previous seasons)
• Display upcoming episodes and their air date
• When opening a season it automatically highlights the next unwatched episode
• Have the ability to only show the next one/two episodes in the future or all episodes
• Indicate the status of an episode by an icon or colour:
  • Aired and in your collection (green)
  • Aired but not in your collection (blue)
  • Unaired (grey)
  • Season finale (special icon/text)
  • Show finale (special icon/text) – This will require some intelligence as the show will no longer have a status of “continuing”

Many of these don’t apply to how UpcomingTV works but I thought it might help if you were thinking about future development.

Once it has been downloaded – can you hit play on it from here? – or is it just an “informational” screen?

I’ll be honest I’ve flipped back and forth between subdued and destiny and with all the features Throg has added in recently he has offically converted me over 100%

To be honest I can’t see why some folk hesitate about buying the Throg package. I love the fact I can tailor each and every single page to look the way I want it to look. Everything is quick, if I get sick of the look of the details view, I just switch it to another style of view but keep the rest of the looks intact. I find it more powerful than other themes due to this.

I also like the look of Subdued, own all of ST’s themes, yet have gone back to Throgs. (I cannot make choices very well so figure just buy everything, slight disorder)

I want to put use a backdrop for the Upcoming TV. I made a directory in IBN\Imagesbyname\General called upcoming, however nothing is showing as a backdrop. Do I have to make this capital letters or do I have to do a full refresh of MediaBrowser?

It’s weird, I tried this plugin and it worked fine the first time, but now whenever I enter “Upcoming TV” I get the Invalid Application – Unable to launch “media browser” dialog, even though I’m already inside media browser.

Note: the first time I ran it, I got heaps of “metadata out of date, showname has ended” messages on the bottom line. I use metabrowser, so I processed all my series updating the status.

Entering a normal VF works fine.

I’ve tried uninstalling & re-installing the plugin, but that made no difference.

(I have all throg’s themes installed, and I’m using the destiny EHS).

I finally did some extensive testing and following are some of the findings.

1. When using Maelstrom theme for the EHS it does not show the icon for it, note the screen shots as it does show the icon using the default EHS theme.

In addition when going through the recently added link in Maelstrom the views for the TV Shows are not remembered. The Season level is always Kismet Strip and the Episode level is Vanilla Strip.

Finally I also can’t get the Forecast to show up. I do like Maelstrom as EHS but it does not have the weather on it thus my trying to get Forecast on the root scroller, but no joy. I am running the latest version available.

I had seen the Forecast twice entered into the root scroller. with the 2.1.4.0 or 2.1.5.0 Destiny theme. I uninstalled Forecast and updated to Destiny 2.1.6.0 and it totally disappeared. I tried all different combinations of destiny theme, removing and new installation of the Upcoming TV and Forecast but never got the Forecast back up.

Then I did a total refresh and the Upcoming TV totally disappeared. Uninstalled everything. Started back with Destiny 2.1.4.0 No Upcoming, No Forecast, restarted the HTPC and went back to Supremacy EHS. Everything was fine.

Installed Forecast tried all kinds of different views, NADA, ZIP. Installed Upcoming TV and it appeared on the root scroller. Ran a full refresh, deleting items, images, enabling slow provider and refreshing studio images. Upcoming TV appeared in all the EHS views as well as displaying the banners properly.

Updated to Destiny 2.1.6.0 and no changes worked as expected, but no joy getting the forecast to work. Are there any ways to see from the Logs why this does not show up in the root scroller, any debug version of the Forecast to see where it goes AWOL?

Thanks for your continued support. I am trying now to settle for a EHS screen to my liking. I like the displaying of the RAL using posters as in Maelstrom rather then in a list view as in Supremacy. I also do like the display of XZener’s EHS icons maybe a combination of the best of the EHS screens would be possible. I normally like Ascendancy views but the EHS I just find very cumbersome and some of the others just too plain, but then that is just me the guy that must have mediainfo icons.

nice idea, BUT it that works only with some themes, why only with selected themes? the original idea of MB was that will be free now all themes, plugins are turning be paid, why implement the idea of lite or add supported

all the way I like the idea, similar to trakt, but nicer, more polished it would be nice be able to play the episodes if they are in the collection (episodes from yesterday, the day before…) Nice Work

I usually change stuff that is off the air to hidden – and I think Upcoming TV is also ignoring hidden folders – any way around that?

I guess when the new feature comes out that allows hiding watch folders, I can stop with the whole hidden dir thing..

Just as a feedback on the entries on the root scroller for Upcoming TV & Forecast. I did what you recommended and after making sure all the latest versions were installed I ran a full refresh from the MB Service and the Upcoming TV disappeared from the root scroller so no None Folder entries. I deducted this must have either something to do with the refresh or the time it takes to show up on the root scroller because MBTV / MBPlus never gave me this problem.

So in desperation I went to the config tab on your themes and ran a Library update and then continue to get back to the theme. Lo and behold Forecast & Upcoming TV showed up as entries in the root scroller.

So as of this moment it seems to work correctly and I can now proceed to the begs & pleads :)

The two none folder entries Forecast and Upcoming TV in the Maelstrom EHS view look very bare and just a big black screen with no real text or other information to speak of and no entries in the RAL area. Is there any chance to either enable the icon showing or for you to place like a generic icon there as you have shown in your pictures of the default view. Anything would be better then just the bare view of single line entry “Forecast” & “Upcoming TV”.

Not working for me,No series are showing when i open it,And iam running a Throg theme

Throg, could you do me a favor and look into what causes Upcoming TV & Forecast to display this funny behavior. After shutdown yesterday I turned on the HTPC today and 2 Forecast entries were in the root scroller. I went to the configuration menu navigated to the Update Library button and clicked it then clicked on the button continue. Now one of the Forecast entries in the root scroller disappeared and all is well again. It looks to me that the full refresh from the MB service with deletion of items and images is not reflected in these two none folders but you have to go to the Configuration menu in your theme and select Update Library to see the proper reflection in the root scroller.

Hey Throg, this is great and I love it but I have overscan padding on and it seems to be ignored here – can you check that out please? Let me know if you need me to post a screenshot. Thanks!

I did delete the Cache.DB after stopping the MB Service. Ran a full refresh deleting Items as well as Images and refreshed them. After completion the Forecast & Upcoming TV was absent from the root scroller. As soon as I did a Library update from the Configuration TAB they appeared. This is JFYI in case others have the same problem.

I also noticed that when having either Forecast or Upcoming TV there appears to be a Rating icon as indicated in the screen shot. Just so you are fully clued in what I and maybe others may experience with these excellent features. Again EHS view is Maelstrom.

So I was playing round a bit and I decided I was going to add a Collection Analysis button:

Basically you click this button and it will examine all your series and report on any missing episode.

I will probably make it so you can select a series and it will provide you a list of all missing episodes.

This is awesome! I was just thinking about this the other day…

I wonder if this could be set to appear only when you scroll to your “TV Series” entry on the EHS?

Alright I’ve upload a new version which includes the collection analysis portion. There of course maybe issues when determining your collection. Things which maybe a little funky is when you have one file which is multiple episode. I may not use the correct Regex to determine what episodes it contains as MB doesn’t tell me that its multiple episodes.

Basically for multiple episodes the standard I use that I’ve tested is the following:

Series.Name.01x02-04.Episode.Name
Series.Name.s01e02-04.Episode.Name

Doing something different probably won’t work.

Alright with the latest update, I think I’m pretty happy with the feature set. Is there any other functionality you think this plugin needs?

It’s working well. Does everything required. My thinking is you don’t want to clutter it up too much.

This is a very nice piece of work Throg. I am running this while trial-ing Imperium and waiting for Atlas SP1. I have a couple of observations which I hope you will entertain:

1) When viewing in List mode I am not getting several of the banners (already refreshed with slow providers ticked)

2) When viewing in List mode I am not getting the series name logo in the upper right corner above the Genre and Synopsis. Do I need clear logos for this?

3) When viewing in Grid mode and navigating with a remote I find it difficult to get the focus to move from the grid to the Analysis/Grid/List buttons on the right. How do I get to these buttons? Moving to the end of the day’s row then just jumps to the next day.

4) I love the Analysis view but navigating the list of series does not seem to support keyboard/remote input of the first letter(s) of the series to jump to say S or V.

5) Edit: Ctl+H does not seem to work from within the plug-in.

I’ve just noticed that everytime you enter it, it goes straight to the last entry on Monday. This just means you have to scroll back to beginning.

I would really like to be able to add to the Upcoming TV db be thetvdb number (context menu?). There are shows that are premiering that I obviously don’t have setup as a series in MB yet because they don’t exist.

I have 61 active TV shows. Upcoming TV freezes three times for about 20seconds as I scroll through them. I have all my continuing TV shows in one folder and the completed in another. Perhaps it would be possible to point it at a specific folder?

Still cant get this to work, Have tried everything suggested and when i try to open Upcoming Tv it crashes
