If you are using MediaBrowser with a remote control then there are some special functions assigned to some buttons, these are as follows.
Core Media Browser buttons and their functions
The Record button
- Refreshes metadata, etc. for the currently selected item. This button can be used on: media collections, folders, movies, episodes, podcasts, trailers
The Clear button
- If you press the clear button then MediaBrowser will toggle the watched status of the currently focused item. This button can be used on: movies, series, seasons, episodes, podcasts, trailers
The * button
- As of Media Browser 2.2.1 (codename Firestorm) the * button activates a context menu to perform item specific actions on the currently focused item.
The Play button
- The function of the Play button varies based on the focused item, for a folder with multiple items inside, a TV show for example, the Play button will produce a menu asking what play mode you want. If pressed while a single video, such as a movie or single TV episode, then Media Browser will begin to play the file.
The Channel Up/Down buttons
- These buttons function similarly to the Up/Down scroll buttons, but scroll further with each press, this is useful when navigating large lists.
The # button
- In certain themes this button toggles the pop-up info window to view extended information about the focused item without leaving the current view.
There are also several keyboard shortcuts available.
