A wish, is your way of telling us, you really want a bug fixed or a feature built.

New accounts are granted a single wish, as you gain reputation you will be granted more wishes.

  • 0 reputation – 1 wish
  • 15 reputation – 2 wishes
  • 100 reputation – 3 wishes
  • 250 reputation – 4 wishes
  • 500 reputation – 5 wishes
  • 2000 reputation – 6 wishes

To make a wish, find a bug or feature you want fixed and click the star icon. If you change your mind you can always take back your wish.

If a feature is complete or a bug is fixed you will be given back your wish so you can use it for another topic. If a request is declined you will be given back your wish, although the UI will still show wishes allocated to the declined request. According to Sam, this is a UI bug or issue, so don’t panic — you've got your wish back.

Don’t know what to wish for? No problems, there is a big list of popular items for you to look through.

That sounds great! How do I quickly get a second wish?

There are all kinds of ways you can earn reputation!

To quickly gain 15 reputation you can suggest an improvement to a post. Whether it is a spelling error you correct or a sentence you rephrase so it is more clear, you will receive the “Improver” badge once the improvement gets accepted by the owner of the post. In reward you will receive the badge which is worth 15 points.

You not only get your second wish at 15 points, but you also help out in improving the overall quality of the content.
