I would like to personally thank all of you who have supported me and my fanart the past year and a half. I wish I could begin to tell you how many hours I've put in to my collection, but frankly, I lost count. Many of my icons have been requests from users just like yourself. In preparation of Soultakers “Open Alpha” Pearl Theme, I have redesigned ALL of my icons to display properly in Media Browser using his new theme. I had to resize the canvases to allow my icons to display properly using the Pearl theme. Here is a screenshot of what they will look like (my Pearl theme has been modified, the default background is white)…
Keep in mind, these are for the “Pearl Theme”, they have not been tested yet using other themes. Please only use these with Pearl.
Also, I have noticed that the new icons dont refresh unless you manually refresh them inside Media Browser. Simply hover your mouse over the desired icon, and press “Control-R”. My icon should then display properly.
The download includes “ALL” my icons, so the download is rather large. Hope you guys like them.
These are icons I have created over the last year to contribute to the community. Most of which were specifically requested by one of you. Using your submitted requests and ideas, I used Photoshop to create them.
Have a look, if you don’t see an icon you'd like to have created, please give me a request. Please tell me what the clapper should say, for example “TV Miniseries”. Maybe even a couple picture idea’s and I'll see what I can do.
The download also includes a clapper template with the 28 Days Later font so you can try creating your own. Some of the members of the community have created a few nice looking icons themselves.
I've had multiple people asking for my genre icons to be converted to EHS icons. Well, here is my way of compromising with you. I'd like to introduce “Xzener’s MediaBrowser Icons V2”.
I'd like to thank Demonseed for teaching an old dog new tricks. He taught me a trick with Photoshop that will dramatically reduce labor time, on all my fanartwork.
My EHS icons were a big hit. I apologize for not being able to accommodate everyone with the 3D image. I hope you can understand, all of those are custom made by me. Some of the objects used are either from my digital camera, or found on the internet. So, to make everyone happy, I've decided to create the same look as my original EHS icons, but without the 3D custom image.
I took a different approach to creating these so I could get them to you guys sooner. I created most (some require a rebuild) of the genre and commonly used ones. Please have a look and download a set for yourself. I hope you enjoy them.
I will continue to rebuild and create ALL the other icons. Stay tuned.
MediaBrowser has come a long way since I've started using it. At first, my 2D icons looked great. But with all the awesome themes coming out, my icons (to me) started to look rather dated. So I decided it was time for a new look. I'm using my icons, giving them a little perspective, some 3D art, and topped off with a nice reflective touch. They look amazing with all themes in MediaBrowser, and I'm hoping you guys feel the same. I have spent countless hours creating these for you guys, please let me know what you think. Some constructive criticism is always welcome.
If you don’t see one that is on your EHS, don’t hesitate to request it. Let me know what the clapper should say, for example “MKV Movies” and a couple image ideas and I'll see what I can do.
Here is my collection of Mediainfo icons. I created these a while back in hopes that one day, we could customize the look of our MediaBrowser UI. I think that day is close.
UPDATE: I am currently configuring my mediainfo icons to be compatible with Media Browsers new feature. Please be patient.
You've all requested it, and here is is. “Xzener’s MediaBrowser Icon”. Well, icons, if you include the “ApplicationInactive” icon too. Included in the download is both icons to overwrite the originals. To install simply add images to the C:\Program Files\MediaBrowser\MediaBrowser\ folder.
I'm always on the hunt for high resolution pictures that look amazing on MediaBrowser’s top menu screen. Here is a few that I use, and I must say, puts the icing on the cake.
Also included with the download is a “Trailer” backdrop. If you create a folder in your “General” IBN subfolder and throw this into it (named “folder.jpg”), the backdrop will appear with your trailers.

I'm really looking forward to this. Thankfully, I looked again at this topic in the forums, because the “dog fights” category had me perplexed. I figured that Michael Vick donated to you, but then I saw it was for aerial dog fights. Oops!
I have uploaded a new Backdrop I've been working on. The green trailers image can be changed to anything I want. If “Configurable Backdrop Transitions” ever gets implemented into MediaBrowser, I could fiddle with those further.
Ok everyone, just to keep you posted. I'm slowly but surly converting my icons to my EHS style icon. Its a slow process because some of the icons need to be rebuilt to fit. I dont have a positive release date, but will keep you posted.

Hope you don’t mind Xener, but I made a couple of changes to a few, to best suit my particular needs. I separate my shows into running and ended ones, and also my SD and HD material into indivual and boxsets. I just changed some of the artwork displayed and added some extra text… and used the setting sun style covers.

I have been a long time lurker and user of your icons. As has been said before, I haven’t seen any other icon set that comes close. I've had them for ages and am only considering changing them cos you have started on the 3d ones – which are so awesome, I had to donate. Keep it up man!!

In order to move things along quicker for the “Non-3D EHS” icon release, I decided to create the main genre icons. Then will continue creating the rest of them. This should make some of you happy.

Hi xzener, I have been using your icons for a while and just like even one else, I love them. Looking forward to the new EHS non-3d ones. I am glad that your donation button had a pre-determined amount ;–). It is hard to know what are good amounts.
now to my question, do you have or know somebody that has: Icons for kids shows split up in different types? example: I use one of your kids Tv icons and then have sub folders of action show (spider-man, x-men, transformers, ben-10) little kids shows (dora, strawberry shortcake, little princess) big kids shows like (Hannah Montana, iCarly, & other non cartoons)
You might guess in all of this I have a son, a little daughter, and a big daughter ;–) plus I mix a lot of USA and German shows..

I dropped support for 3D covers, I just dont have time for those anymore. Luckily we have a couple threads out there supporting those.

Added “Xzener’s Media Icons” to my collection! I think were getting close to having the ability to customize our MediaBrowser even more. My media icons look great in any theme. Hope you like them.

I love the look of these icons. How do you use them in Mediabrowser.
Do you just rename the one you like to folder.jpg and place it in the root folder of the directory that the icon represents?

I vented in another users thread, and I feel bad… I just couldn’t take it any longer. I know many of you are new to the CT and maybe are not quite sure how things work. So here’s the lowdown…
I can see many of you are new (and maybe I'm just talking to myself because I'm sure a couple have joined the CT, made a request and don’t ever come back). Please use the this to your advantage. More reputation means more wishes, which means more awesome feature requests, which means a more polished MediaBrowser.

How does one use the media icons? Do you create a folder within the ImagesByName folder? Excuse the possibly stupid question that probably has a KB

Xzener, I have access to 9covers.com, and have a perfect process to convert Blu-ray covers to the 3D look you use. I do not have to crop any of the background, and the images look excellent. Hey, could we get a right-side “Music Concerts” icon? I've only got a left-facing one atm so it’s kinda out of place as all my others are right-facing.
Hi guys, my first post :) I'm a great fan of Mediabrowser, its totaly changed the way I watch my films and series especialy when used in sync with Media Center Master. Anyway my first post and I am asking for something, would it be possible to create a Gardening icon for the EHS, I have the Music, Tv Series, Medical and they look great :). Thats the last thing I need to complete my set up.

Thanks xzener for your incredible icons and art! I'm exclusively using your icons and backdrops they tighten up the MediaBrowser and really allow me to enjoy browsing through my catalog of cinema.
I had a few (maybe a little more) requests for the some oddball genres. I like collecting b-movies, obscurities, and genre 60-70’s films. Within those umbrella genres fall the genre icons I'd love to see:
Nunsploitation, Nazisploitation, Blaxsploitation, WIP (women in prison), Zombies, Lycans, Vampires, Art house, Coming of Age, Slasher, Occult, EuroSpy, Pinku, Post-Apocalyptic, VHSRip, BetaRip, LDRip, Giallo, Godzilla, and finally Bigfoot.
Great job, Xzener, these are hands down my favorites. Not sue if you are still taking requests, if you are, I'd like to request “Batman” and “History”
