Bug Local Trailers can't be played through an External Player

My MediaBrowser configuration is setup to launch .mkv’s and .mp4’s with Zoom Player. I have all the correct codecs because I can play all my movies in both zoom player, and in Windows Media Player. However, when I go to play a .mp4 trailer, I always get a Video Error “Files needed to display video are not installed or are not working correctly….” Is anyone else having this issue?

My movie directory is organized like: (network drive) M:\Movies\SD\Movie1\Trailers\trailer1.mp4

MP4s and MKVs are setup to play through zoom player. I am using Windows 7 32bit and I have a Windows 7 64bit.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

  • Is this going to get another look as I have problems playing a lot of my trailers in media browser but they play fine in my external player of choice – lurch9366 over 2 years ago

This one bothers me now that I switched to external player, I do not have any codec installed, and many trailers won’t play at all.
