Absolutely, provide a link. I think a lot of people will be interested in it. I have one too, but even though mine has a tv section, it’s not working. The movies part works though and it sounds like both of ours does about the same thing. I'd like to see what you've come up with. Hopefully better than mine. It’s the first item on this page:
first off i would like to say im pretty new with c#.net. But what i have done was create a hashset of the genres so no duplicates are created then the rest is just xml manipulation of deleting and adding to the genres section in mymovies.xml
ill have to upload it somewhere, ill be doing that shortly but i want to check 1 more thing before i do
ok so here we go, http://www.computersolutionswv.com/genrefixer/GenreFixerBetaV1.0.exe
since this is my first c#.net project let me know if you have any problems with the setup file
fixed but please use the newest version posted on 1st post
just looked at your tools tobias, props on the hard work
Directions on using Genre Consolidator
First off please Ignore 2nd Tab “Missing Images”, as you can see this is in beta so just the genre consolidator works, this will however show you a list of the missing actors if your interested, but like i said, it doesnt do anything as of yet.
Step 1: Pick your Main folder under “Choose Directory Path”, this will look in all subdirectories of that folder for mymovies.xml which is where the metadata is stored.
Step 2: Click on “List” which will show you a list of all the current genres you have, this is a unique list so no duplicates should exist.
Step 3: Click on an item in the list and you will see on the right hand side there is an option to “Change” or “Delete”, choose what you want to do
Step 4: if you click on Change then select the “Current Genre” items that you want to change to the “New Genre”
Step 5: click run and watch the magic.
Additional: If you have a really large collection it has been known that you might have to run this multiple times, I am not exactly sure why but it happens
What is the “Related Films for Genre” button for? if you click on your Current Genre List then click on Related films, it will list all the movies in the specific genre.
Additional Note: This is in beta and there is no “UNDO” button so i would suggest testing it out first on some sample directories, what i did was copied a few mymovies.xml files into some folders and let it run from there for testing until i worked all the bugs that i could find out
man I would love to try this out but it says I cant download it that its missing some files.
Yeah, your installer is broke. It try’s to locate and download files then errors out. Do we need a dll pack or something to use this?
I'm also getting the installer problem. Any chance of a fix?
