I have read about the synopsis (dvdid.xml) only working for movies, but I was wondering if it is truly impossible for TV episodes? I play a lot of my TV episodes in random play and would like to be able to read about what I'm watching without having to look through the metadata normally. Sorry if this really is impossible.

I would like this to happen as well. There must me a work around for this. It might be more of a metabrowser thing though. With this article ,there must be a way.

You got my vote! I would really like this, its the little details that make the whole system look great.

An idea for a workaround, how does WMC get the info for an episode of TV that it records?

  • Yep, time to jump from the gravy train. :) Metabrowser2 will do everything you want. :) – chef about 1 year ago
  • actually it won’t – we are talking about pulling in the tv episode synopsis while it is playing from the media center menu the way you do for movies using a dvdid.xml file – tp546 about 1 year ago

Media Center will read a dvdid file in a season folder, but I have not been able to find out how to make a dvdid file for a TV season. Doing each episode might be too complicated for me, but im going to look into having the season synopsis show up.

  • Htc, metabrowser creats dvdid files for my tv episodes automatically. Have you tried that? – chef about 1 year ago
  • I still have metabrowser 1 – it doesnt seem to, or I have the settigns wrong. Are you using v2? – scoyne88 about 1 year ago
