Multiple Clients : Central Server : Service
I would like to see the service be able to be run from a server and the clients connect to a single service that is running sqlite or sql express or mysql and would carry all the information in a single database.
This would simplify my installation and allow for easier updates to the clients.

This should be seamless for users with only 1 computer as it would install both tools on 1 computer and would work like normal.

I love this program this is the 1 thing it lacks of I still pick this 1 over oml but I did like the sql In oml but is dead now
I would really love to see this approved. It is very important to me and one of the main missing features in Media Browser besides remote app support.

Right now I run this on my wired desktop and “copy” the needed files to the client PC’s

I agree I was looking for a donate button the other day. I would be willing to donate some $$ for this to get done. Maybe we can start a running tally to get this done.
Tottaly agree would love this feature. Also think it would be great to have an android/apple/ windows 7 phone- phone/tablet app that syncs with the database to make it easy when choosing new movies perhaps barcode scanner via camera. Have the mobile database show cover jpeg with description and a search by input or barcode to make sure you dont have the dvd already.
While I like this idea a lot, it seems the last few releases have all been devoted to the core, the MB service, and now performance, and at this point I’m a little anxious to start seeing some new, innovative UI features. Maybe after that I’d be more receptive to something like this, but right now I’d hate to see yet another release devoted to back-end features.

Where are all of the settings saved? as a workaround couldn’t you just move your settings to the server, then create a symlink from the client to the server on each client? This would sync all of your settings to all of the clients.
I will poke around with this and update the Workarounds section when I have something working.
This request is officially 4th highest on the list now. I would really like to hear from the developers on where we are and how we as a community can help set up some specifications in more detail to give to them.
