FindArt is now available via the configurator.
v1.2.0.0
v1.1.0.1 – ALPHA SOFTWARE!
v1.1.0.0 – ALPHA SOFTWARE!
v1.0.3.0
Users can change their covers and background art without leaving Media Browser or using 3rd party tools. This plugin is theme independant and integrates with CoverArt as well.
Currently multiple backdrops are not supported although they are on the roadmap.
Good day,
It working as it should, great plug in indeed, well done. I know it alpha and sure not done yet, but I have a suggestion:
When finish the download for the poster selected, it do not indicated or change the original poster with the new poster, I have to click on the back arrow to see the new poster take place.
I best the change take place in the same plug in windows.

Installed and checked in Folder Menu but there is nothing there to identify FindArt as indicated in first post above.
Good day,
To access the context menu:
press the * button on a Remote.
or
press the * button on the alphanumeric keypad on your keyboard.
or
press SHIFT+8 on your keyboard (or the key which corresponds to * character. For example with Finnish keyboard settings, the correct combination is SHIFT+‘).

Very impressed with this i like the idea of everything incorporated into media browser and this will be a great addition.
I’ll do a shameless bump here and see if anyone is using this and has had time to test it? I kinda convinced Soultaker to take this plugin on, so would like to explain why I wanted it and how i use it.
I personally store my meta and images locally, and at a time in the past picked all the best posters and backdrops thru meta2 to manage these. Now my meta2 info pulls in everything automatically and adds to mediabrowser, so the only thing left to do when adding my content is pick my favorite poster right thru the mediabrowser gui and the best part it’s on the display I’m going to be viewing it on.
I then took a look at my old posters and decided it cant hurt to check for new ones, and to my pleasant surprise tons of new choices available on the tmdb website and tvdb website. The backdrop support and management of having backdrops without text is my personal preference so would love to see more backdrop support and management of those type of images right inside the gui as well in the future.
If you don’t use locally stored images for your content and are a new user to Mediabrowser then you definitely would benefit. The FindArt plugin would be even more beneficial as sometimes the default poster fetched is not the best choice out there, and once again some backdrops just don’t display well inside an interface, especially when they have text on them or not your native language images.
Before ST would consider the amount of effort needed and schedule the time needed to add additional backdrop support it would be good to hear from the community if this is working as expected at least on the poster side.
Thanks to all that weighed in so far and perhaps this bump will bring more exposure to this beta test.
I thought it was rather good and useful. Due to time constraints , I did not get a chance to really run it through its paces, given the short Alpha window. :(
I haven’t had a chance to try this out but it seems very useful. I used a metadata scraper which downloads every backdrop available. Since I don’t look through the results right away, I don’t really notice the bad ones until it shows up on the screen in MB. Can you cycle through pre-existing backdrops in FindArt just to remove them as well?
Just wondered if this plugin will be able to change season posters in the future not just overall Tv show posters as i think this would be a great feature?
Good day,
Well done!
But still same issue regarding, no indicator of the replacement of the poster till you exit the page and return to the posters view.

Installed Mediabrowser about a week ago and FindArt is one of my favorite plug-ins. It has made it much easier to hunt down preferred poster art and it integrates seamlessly into the interface.
Sadly, the alpha expired as of today and it doesn’t look like there is a replacement. Is there a way to extend the alpha? I still have a lot of content I’m planning to add to mediabrowswer and this plugin makes the process easier.
Thanks!
Hi ya, the alpha period has expired as of Aug 1st.
Unfortunately other pieces of work have kept me away from the FindArt plugin, however, look for an extended beta in the next 24hrs.
I have tried several times to install findart but it always crashes the configurator?
Good day,
I really can not find any issue with this great plug in, just beside what I mention in my last post.
Well done indeed.

I installed this, but for the most part my art is all good so I haven’t had a chance to really give it a whirl. I added some kids shows the other day for my son and I hadn’t realized that the season 1 poster came down as German. My wife pointed it out, so I grabbed the remote, used FindArt and replaced it in like 2 seconds.
So yeah, love it lol
Does this even need to be a plugin? Just add it to the main code and be done with it lol.
Go get your logos ready with FindArt right now because Neo (Alpha) is coming soon.

any chance of including an image re-size option?
It would also be nice to have the ability to edit the movie description/synopsis via findart as well. I occasionally see typos, spelling mistakes, gramatical errors etc which i would like to change there and then but I inevitably forget to alter them via MetaBrowser after i finish watching the movie.
Fantastic plugin, would it be possible to add albumart to this?
I’m so bummed about Neo….. I think i should cancel this plugin too.

Good day,
Why buddy? This great plug in indeed.
No need to cancel anything, just keep up with your always great work
That goes to BAS as well
You both doing great job indeed.

ST Please do not discontinue this plugin. It has been a lifesaver on numerous occasions. I for one would be stuck with having to meticulously check through a huge media collection. This has so much potential. It would be a real shame if you let one setback have a knock on effect with the rest of your work. I think I speak for us all you’ve created some great work here. So you’ve had a set back with Neo but maybe something can be recovered from it. Keep up the good work ST and you too BAS.
It still crashes on instalation in the mb 2.5

After much thought, I’ve decided I’m releasing this plugin for free to everyone. I’ve been changing a few things and thats probably why FindArt is failing at the moment.
However, fear not I should have an update for all by the end of the day.
Hi,
Just wondering if I could request a feature and also report a maybe bug.
Firstly, is it possible to make findart actually save the art it finds into the media folders like other metadata programs do (eg folder.jpg etc)? This makes it a lot easier to manage multiple systems pointing at the same repository, and makes reinstalling a lot easier.
Secondly, it seems that there is some strangeness with getting episode names and art. About half the time it works fine, episode will show up as (XX – EP NAME) with a preview thumbnail and description. Other half the time it just fails and shows up as the physical filename, with no description. All my files are named identically on the filesystem so I dont understand why half the time it works? I have folders now where episode 1, 3, 5, 9 are all named right, then 2, 4, 7, and 8 are all named like the physical file. Very strange behavious, any thoughts?
Cheers.
