I have 4 playlists in my playlists folder. 2 are automatic and 2 are normal. With v2.0.3.3 it only displays the 2 automatic playlists. I rolled MB Music back to v2.0.2.0 and it only dislays the 2 normal playlists, but I think that version was prior to automatic playlist suport being added but I’m not positive. Has anyone else noticed this?

Update: Also checked this issue with V2.0.4.1 and it behaves the same as V2.0.3.3

Mine are all still there. Can I please see a core log? Any one where you went into music should do.

2.0.4.2 will fix this issue.

There is new fallout on this issue. 2.0.4.2 did fix the problem I reported. However, after doing a full manual MB service refresh all 4 playlist icons display but clicking on any of them displays a 0/0 window.

  • Same as, I have icons for each radio station but choosing anyone of the icons displays another window reporting 0/0. All are .wpl – karlos65 over 1 year ago
  • It looks like they are all loading. Just in case, can you try a different theme? – ebr over 1 year ago
  • Tried in 2 other themes Default and Sapphire, sometimes works but sometimes they do not show up? – karlos65 over 1 year ago
  • Same problem using the Default theme although the default theme shows 1/0 – rickster53 over 1 year ago
  • MB Music Plugin Force refresh does not correct this either… – rickster53 over 1 year ago

This was resolved by a forced refresh from the Music Plugin via the config, I tried a quick refresh but this did not work, but maybe it took 2 refreshes.

EDIT: After a shutdown and restart of MB this has reverted back.

  • The refreshes may be coincidental as playlists are loaded by the core. – ebr over 1 year ago
  • Yep, seems to work randomly. – karlos65 over 1 year ago
  • Cannot see any pattern, just works when it wants to :) – karlos65 over 1 year ago

Still unable to get my playlists past the 0/0 problem, I went ahead and added a new artist and a couple of albums under that artist to my music library. After carefully checking the tags in mp3tag I did a full MB Service refresh and neither the artist nor the two albums showed up. I checked the tags again and did another full MB Service refersh but the new additions still failed to show up. I manually deleted both the Cache and ImageCache folders via Windows Explorer (not via the MB Service screen)and did yet another full MB Service refersh. This time my new artist and both albums showed up. And, my playlists are back too!!!!!

Karlos65, why don’t you try this and see if it solves your problem too…

  • Maybe some sort of cache corruption…? – ebr over 1 year ago
  • That’s what I was thinking too… But I would have thought that with “Clear Item Cache” checked in the MB Service that would do the same thing. I do remember that the Item Cache was VERY large and had a VERY large number of items in it because it took a long, long time to get moved to the Recycle Bin and then get deleted… – rickster53 over 1 year ago
  • Yikes! I just entered MB after writing my comment above and the Playlists are back to 0/0 again. The only thing that happened between yesterday’s “success” and today’s failure was a PC shutdown and reboot… I will try repeating this to see if there is a pattern. This would now seem to be exactly what Karlos said in his EDIT to his own response… – rickster53 over 1 year ago
  • Trying to reproduce this has not been succesful. Tried a full MB Service referesh with all boxes checked and playlists still show 0/0. Manually deleted both the Items Cache and ImageCache and reran full MB Service refresh but still got 0/0. This looks like it might be a nasty one to find… – rickster53 over 1 year ago
  • Update… so after the last full MB service refresh failed to help playlists I then did a Force Images from the Nusic Configurator for no special reason. Upon completion, I launched MB and noticed there was quite a bit of disk activity so I just waited till it stopped. Several minutes later I entered Playlists and they were back! Closed MB, relaunched it and went directly to Playlists. Got 0/0. Sat in the opened Playlist for several minutes waiting for the disk activity to stop but Playlists stayed at 0/0 even after the disk churning stopped. I backed out of Playlists and went back in—-still 0/0. Exit MB and relaunch… Waited for all disk activity to subside, again several minutes went by. Went into playlists when it subsided and they were all there again!!! My conclusion is that for some reason Playlists will not display unless the Core finishes all it’s background work for the Playlists… What do you think, Ebr? – rickster53 over 1 year ago

Shot in the dark but give this a try.

  • 2.0.4.3 didn’t chang anything but please see my UPDATE COMMENT at the end of my prior post as I am now able to reproduce this at will… – rickster53 over 1 year ago
  • Yeah, you just have so many large playlists and most with relative paths that it takes a long time to construct them. I guess I need to persist the playlists but I don’t know when I’ll get to that. – ebr over 1 year ago
  • I tried the dll above but no change. – karlos65 over 1 year ago
  • I don’t think the number of playlists or their respective sizes are outrageous… To give you a sense for how many songs they contain: 2 are Automatic; 1 with 86 songs and the other with 95. 2 are Manual; 1 with 115 songs and the other with 95. – rickster53 over 1 year ago
  • No, I agree – my handling of the playlists was inadequate for real-world usage. Please re-download from the link above. Re-start MB and let it sit long enough to build your playlists. Then exit MB, go back in and see if your playlists are there. – ebr over 1 year ago
