Hi, i upgraded my MB to the new 2.5.2v , got the mb music plugin, refreshed all my images for my music albums, and i can see all the backdrops and cs covers. But! there’s no player! after i press the play button, it directs me to the media center interface! is that the best it could do? i mean theres a list of songs, i can even see the lyriks! but cant play one song after another and stay on the media browser interface? would it be like that for every song i choose? ill pick a song go back to the media center interface, press back, and then press back again to get to a new artist? cause if it does its rather pointless and i wasted half a day just for refreshing. PLEASE tell me im doing something wrong here! thanks, shay.

Media Browser and the Music Plugin itself is simply a “skin” or “theme” for WMC. It is not a replacement for it. Both of these still use the Windows Media Player for actual playback of your media. These are both simply a different interface to display your media.

If you stop what is playing and hit the back button you will find yourself in MB again.

If you hit the * button or play on a folder you will get the choice to “play from here” and “play all” etc.

You might find some useful topics in the KB.

It’s theme dependent. In the free themes, Diamond & Subdued show a menu:
Play All, Shuffle Play and Queue All.
Default, Chocolate and Simplicity don’t. I’d suggest trying another theme and see if that helps.

  • You can also queue single songs which will leave you in MB. Then, you can save those songs as a playlist (in the Mediacenter interface) and play them all again later if you wish. – ebr over 1 year ago
