Gents, I know this issue has been discussed a couple of times last year and there was some debate about localised ratings.
I understand it would be a huge undertaking to get that sorted, as it probably requires to get metadata from different sources.
I would like to suggest to enable indexing by MPAA Rating, without restriction of the MPAA rating items (meaning not just R,PG-13 etc.)
For anyone who would like to localise, the rating incdicators can be input manually. I am using the Dutch rating system and rated all my movies accordingly.
Although this would possibly mean an addition or change in the core, it shouldn’t be that difficult to implement right?
If you like this idea too, please support it and maybe the dev’s can put it in at some stage.
I’ve just added this to Apollo SP1 because, with the new indexing engine, it was trivial to do.
You’re welcome :).
Nobody interested?
Maybe I didn’t make the request clear enough, I’m only asking for the possibility to index by MPAA Rating.
Currently you can only sort by rating (wich is the IMDB rating by the way)
I would like to have the option to index by MPAA Rating because it will give the option to show all your movies rated PG or G or whatever system you are using exclusively, so you can choose a movie suitable for a specific age group.
Come to think of it, it would be even better (but harder to program I guess) if you could set a threshhold and get all the movies below that thresh hold.
Anyway, although not a high priority, still something worthwile looking at (IMO)
Thanks EBR, I can now (after upgrading to Apollo SP1) index by MPAA Rating wich is very helpful!
This does however raise another issue I wasn’t aware of yet (sorry…).
When I index by MPAARating, I won’t get folder images. I have tried by creating an IBN folder named Ratings, MPAARating and put folder.jpg’s in there within the appropriate rating folders, but sofar to no avail.
Am I doing something wrong or is this still not possible?
