As of right now we can index our collections by actor, genre, director, year, and studio, why not add a rating index as well?

The only problem I see with this is localised MPAA. I suspect this will need to be implemented before we can have some sort of filter on it. I would consider this quite useful too.

  • I figured that might be the case. Wish I knew more about programming/coding… – fuzzy11287 over 2 years ago
  • I know nothing of programming/coding but I am quite familiar with what has been going on this past year. Localised MPAA is a very big community request as you can imagine. I would love to see both these requests some time soon. – skynet600 over 2 years ago

Love this idea. Would love to be able to filter/index by my R rated movies.

There is a rating sort order although personally I haven’t found how to make it sort correctly. There is also sort by name, date, runtime, and unwatched as well. Name seems to sort without fail. Date sorts by when you added the title and not released as you'd expect. Runtime does nothing by sorting the lengths of the titles for me. Unwatched works perfectly and I find it the most valuable. Default Theme.

  • I think that works as like an IMDB rating sort order. I'm looking for indexing by G, PG, R, things like that. – fuzzy11287 over 2 years ago

MPAA issues ratings like G, PG, R, etc based on sensitivity/appropriate. IMDB issues ratings based on what I assume are critics valuations. I can tell you I have viewed 10 star rated titles that were complete low budget garbage. I assume they got stars from the right critics. I can also confirm that based on MPAA or IMDB metadata, it makes no difference. Mediabrowser doesn’t sort any of it for me although the tab exists.
