Bug Gametime & ISO files

Using Win7 x64.

I have gametime setup to launch batch scripts using the option launch directly. I’ve noticed that if the script is not alphabetically first eg:

C:\Games\Larry

Folder.jpg
Backdrop.jpg
game.xml
Larry.iso
LaunchLarry.bat

MCE opens the “burn iso” dialoge box. I’ve circumvented this problem by renaming my scripts to A_script.bat however this seems like a wierd bug.

  • So you have .bat set as a file type in the Gametime configurator applet? I'd love to see a log file with MCE trying to burn a disc after launching a game. Can you post one somewhere. – Redshirt over 2 years ago
  • I have .bat, .lnk and .exe files being launched by various “systems”. I'm pretty sure it’s a bug though because mce will attempt to launch any file from a folder marked with “launch directly” that is alphabetically first. I just had the same problem with mce trying to open zip files. I'll enable logging and see what I can get. – Skeletonkey over 2 years ago
  • Skeletonkey are you still experiencing this GT issue with 2.5.0.7. If you are I'd like to see that log file – Redshirt over 2 years ago

Pretty sure this is now resolved in gamebrowser II. Using the bottom picture as an example, gb properly identifies the shortcut as the file to launch and ignores the ISO when it comes to launching the game. In fact, if you enable mounting support, it properly mounts the ISO before launching the game from the shortcut file.

I’ve also tightened the entity resolving since gb/gt 1. Before it was possible to misidentify which file to launch because it compared EVERY extension allowed against the files in the folder, rather than just the extensions allowed for that particular platform. (Which is what helped cause your alphabetical bug Skeletonkey)

Marking as fixed now that GBII is in the repo.
